Acne Be Gone!
Acne is unsightly and can even be painful. Over-the-counter medication for acne is expensive and is often ineffective. Home remedies are a great way to save money in this tough economy because you probably already have all of the ingredients in your kitchen. Before you clean out your wallet on over-the-counter medications, here are some great remedies for acne to try at home.
Believe it or not, cucumbers can heal your acne. Take cucumber peel and rub the wet side on your face, completely saturating the acne. Leave the liquid from the peel on your face overnight and wash with warm water in the morning. Repeat every night until your face is acne free. This remedy will also give your skin a healthy glow.
After your nightly ritual of getting ready for bed, apply toothpaste to your acne. That’s right, toothpaste! Let the toothpaste sit on your face overnight and wash with a warm washcloth in the morning. This home remedy is known for zapping away pesky pimples overnight. Reapply the toothpaste to your acne every night after you brush your teeth until your acne is completely gone.
Zinc treatments are very effective in getting rid of acne. You can buy zinc in 50 mg tablets or capsules. Take one pill three times a day for dramatic results in fighting acne. You can also fight acne with zinc-enriched food such as pecan and cashew nuts.
You can make an easy mask for your face at home by crushing orange peel with water. Tomato juice or carrot juice can be used in place of the water for added nutrients. Only add enough liquid to help crush the orange peel. Crush until you have a thick and smooth paste. Blenders are helpful in achieving the right consistency. Apply the paste to your face and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes before thoroughly rinsing your face with lukewarm water.
One of the simplest home remedies for acne is lemon juice. Simply apply lemon juice using a cotton ball to affected areas at night before you go to bed. This home remedy also helps get rid of blackheads and the Vitamin C in lemon juice gives your skin a healthy glow. If you have sensitive skin, you can dilute this home remedy with water or fresh mint juice.
Garlic is great for cooking, but who knew it could also be great for curing acne? Raw garlic can be rubbed on your acne several times a day. This remedy is great for tough acne that hasn’t gone away with other methods. This home remedy is also known to get rid of boils and skin spots.
Acne can cause a lack in self-confidence and can even be painful. However, by using one, or all, of these great home remedies you can be well on your way to healthy, acne free skin!
